Challenge
DWC's existing website presented multiple challenges, particularly around navigation and content organization. Legacy code and several past developers with varying levels of ‘clean’ code and code documentation compounded the challenge. The blog and knowledge center lacked structure, making it difficult for users to find relevant articles efficiently.
Additionally, the manual content management process was cumbersome for internal teams, slowing down updates and reducing operational efficiency. With an increasing volume of content, DWC required a scalable solution that would support future growth while maintaining SEO integrity.
Solution
No Bounds Digital executed a strategic website update using the HubSpot CMS to enhance DWC's digital presence. The project involved a complete redesign of the blog structure, navigation system, and content display mechanisms. Key enhancements included:
- Blog Template Update: A new template was introduced to support category-specific headers and improve content segmentation.
- Mega Navigation Redesign: The Knowledge Center dropdown was restructured into two columns featuring eight categorized sections with icons and a dedicated search/sort function.
- Main Menu Optimization: The blog link was replaced with a direct link to strategic content, aligning with DWC’s content priorities.
- Footer Redesign: A simplified, more user-friendly footer was implemented to enhance usability.
- Content Migration & SEO Maintenance: An optional content migration service was provided to ensure a seamless transition while preserving search rankings.
- Functional Enhancements: The placement of the email subscription form was adjusted to improve visibility and user engagement.
Results
The implementation of the updated website design and navigation structure yielded significant benefits for DWC. Users now experience an improved interface that enhances accessibility and engagement with blog content. The internal team benefits from streamlined content management, reducing the time required for updates and new content creation. Additionally, the optimized mega navigation and filtering system allow visitors to find relevant information more efficiently, driving higher user satisfaction.
Impact
- Increase blog engagement due to improved categorization and discoverability.
- 50% reduction in content management time, allowing internal teams to focus on strategy rather than manual updates.
- Higher website usability scores from internal and external users.
- SEO rankings maintained through an effective content migration and redirect strategy.
